Synopsis: Vanessa and Sarah are very excited about using their new instruments for music class. Vanessa has to leave for a moment during their practice and Sarah notices her wheelchair. Sarah wonders what it’s like to use a wheelchair. Vanessa talks about how to use one and about living with cerebral palsy. Sarah learns about all the things Vanessa can do. I Wanna be the Lead
Synopsis: Bonnie and James are in the library. Bonnie is rehearsing lines in preparation for an audition for the school play. She wants to try-out for the lead but she is reluctant to do so because of her spina bifida. James expresses his admiration of Bonnie’s courage and acting ability and encourages her to try-out. They learn that we are all different on the outside but on the inside we are all the same, and that it takes courage to try something new. Synopsis: Lily and Fatima are friends who are planning a virtual sleepover! They discusss many sleepover ideas and activities. Lily says she can’t stay up too late because of her epilepsy, and she tellss Fatima how to help her if she has a seizure. Fatima learns about epilepsy and seizure first aid. The Snow is Melting
Synopsis: Jack and Rachel are sorting out some recycling while discussing their science project. Jack is not aware that Rachel is autisstsic. Jack talkss to Rachel very loudly about how a water bottle can be made into a toy car. Rachel becomes agitated and leaves the conversation. Jack is confused and asks his friend Marcus for help. Rainy Days Come and Go
Synopsis: Mahrokh, Tyler, MJ and Ruby are all friends. They discuss how Mahrokh has hurt her leg playing soccer. Tyler has empathy for Mahrokh but is frustrated with Ruby, Tyler thinks that Ruby is faking injuries and not coming to baseball practice. Ruby is not able to play because of her mental health. Tyler learns about mental health and how supporting a friend with their mental health is just as important as helping a friend with a broken bone or a different illness. You can’t always tell by looking at someone what they are going through. It is best to choose kindness. Complex Fractions
